SONIC & SEGA ALL-STARS RACING

TIME TRIAL LEADERBOARDS

RECENT RUNS

Dates follow the spreadsheet; an unknown run date uses the date it was added. Current world record badges match the fastest listed time; former world records were logged at #1 and have since been beaten. “#1 when logged” means the current record cannot be confirmed. Badges use the latest available category data, which may be a saved copy. Improvements compare with the player’s best logged time on the same course and category from an earlier date; same-day runs are not compared. Platform badges use the saved spreadsheet copy; new platform details may take longer to appear.

                  RECORD TIMELINE

Newest first. The Activity log starts in January 2024 and may not include every run. Dates may be when a run was added; improvements compare earlier dates on the same course and category. Same-day ordering is unknown.

                    SOURCE ACCURACY CHECK

                    VIEW AUDIT DETAILS

Refresh times describe checks made during this visit. Missing proofs or platforms mean the available record has no saved value. A missing matching date means the Activity log has no entry matching that player, course, category and time. It does not mean the run was never recorded elsewhere.

                    SUBMISSION GUIDE

Have a new time? Send an in-game result image or a video link for administrator review. This website displays the community spreadsheet; new leaderboard runs are submitted through the routes below.

                    RECORD SUBMISSION

                    1. IDENTIFY THE RUN

Include your leaderboard name, exact course and variant, category, character, platform, game version and final time to the displayed precision. Include the run date; keep it separate from the video upload date.

                    2. SHOW THE EVIDENCE

Provide a clear in-game result image or an accessible video link showing your run and final time. Include the course, character, platform and category with your proof. A video may be needed to verify routes or unusual behaviour; explain any cuts or missing footage. Follow any additional proof requirements for the submission route you choose.

                    3. CHECK THE CATEGORY

Use the exact board name and review its rules in the source. State any route restrictions, DLC use or settings that may affect eligibility. The Non Shortcut / Alternate Route category remains experimental with no listed entries; its rules need community confirmation.

                    4. REQUEST REVIEW

Post your image or video link in the Discord personal-best times channel linked above. Administrators review Top 8 candidates and update the spreadsheet. For speedrun.com, use its own submission process and category rules. The site feedback form is for bugs and suggestions; it is not the run submission form.

                    GETTING STARTED

                    1. CHOOSE A BOARD

Open Leaderboards, choose a category and course. Alternate boards show their restriction above the table. Course Info explains the category and shows the original course map.

                    2. FILTER AND COMPARE

Platform and Character filters work together. Positions and gaps keep their overall-board meaning. Gap to first shows the difference from the fastest listed time.

                    3. EXPLORE A PLAYER

Double-click a player name or use Player Profile to open their licence, trophies, latest activity and listed personal bests. Copy Licence Link opens that licence directly for anyone with site access. Favourites and saved players are stored in your browser.

                    4. WATCH PROOF AND FOLLOW PROGRESS

The ghost icon opens a run’s available proof. Course History lets you choose a player and see their logged improvements over time. Missing proof means no link is supplied in the available data.

                    5. CHECK THE SOURCE

Refresh Data checks the selected category. The status says whether a board uses a live check or saved copy. Data Coverage reports missing details and source issues. Rules and submissions are managed in the community spreadsheet.

                      More characters, more competition

The channel set out to revive time-trial competition with character-specific Top 8 boards. Each entry would show the runner, time, country and console, giving characters beyond the dominant choices their own competition.

One of the first leaderboard submissions

One of the first submissions to the original leaderboards: e123omega’s Roulette Road run in 00:47.226 with Metal Sonic. The video title dates the run to 15 January 2014, and its description credits e123omega on PlayStation 3. This is a historical run, separate from the site's current leaderboard.

                      A website for the leaderboards

The original Blogger site offered a character selector, world records and record submissions. A post dated 15 February 2014 announced that the website was being updated; the video documents a website trailer released on 24 February 2014.

The original channel trailer introduced the leaderboard website and promoted records for each character.

                    4. PROOF & FAIR PLAY

                      Records backed by evidence

The original submission guide required video for ten courses with known skips or glitches; the remaining fifteen accepted photographs, with video optional. Those were the original project's rules, rather than a statement of today's category rules.

                      Respot Glitches!

The archived playlist shows track skips and respot glitches, including examples from Monkey Target, Ocean Ruin, Highway Zero, Dark Arsenal, Sandy Drifts and Shibuya Downtown. It preserves the context behind the original video-evidence requirements.

                      An ambition preserved on video

The history video explains that submissions eventually closed before the project reached its full ambition. Character-specific showcase videos preserved a glimpse of how the finished Top 8 boards could have looked.
